Temples in Chittoor District are decorated well ahead of Maha Shivaratri festival
With only a few hours left for the famous Lord Maha Shivaratri festival Temples across the Chittoor district are decorated and geared up with the decorated look for the devotees to celebrate it with devotion on March 1st.
Almost all the temples are celebrating Annual Brahmotsavams on this eve. The famous temples like SriKalahasti, Surutupalle and Moghilli are celebrations already began and continue for three more weeks.Lord Pallikondeswara Swamy temple at Surutupalli which is few meters away from Tamilnadu Border is also celebrating annual bramhotsavams with huge crowds coming from various border areas for the festival. The devotees are coming to temple not only from Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh but also from various parts of Tamilnadu and Karnataka.
APSRTC is also running more than 700+ special service buses which would run from early hours of Monday that covers all important Lord Shiva Temples in the Chittoor District and also all other peripheral areas of nearby districts also. In coordination with Tamilnadu Transport Services special buses from Chittoor and Tirupati to Tiruvannamalai towards Vellore are also kept ready.
