Papavinasam - The Best Place to Visit in Tirumala

Devotees have several places in Tirumala to visit which gives a spiritual and memorable experience in their Devotional Journey. One such place in Tirumala is Papavinasanam. Visiting Papavinasanam will not only provide devotional experience but also cleanses our body and soul that provides new insight into nature. 

Papavinasanam

Papavinasanam is located at just 5 Kms from the Tirumala temple. Papavinasanam has an excellent natural and amazing viewpoint. It has a beautiful waterfall which is breathtaking as well. Devotees will take a holy water bath. Dipping in the Papavinasanam will clean all the sins of the Devotees. Papavinasanam is a powerful place to clean all the sins or Papas. Hence it is also called as Papavinasanam.

People have a strong belief that the water that flows in Papavinasanam directly comes from the foot of the Lord Venkateshwara. The government has also constructed a dam near the Papavinasanam. The Waterfall in the Papavinasanam is arranged in such a way that water is flowing from the mouth of the Lions. The flow of water is stored in the reservoir. The water supply for Tirumala is supplied from this reservoir only.  Another strong belief is that if any Devotee donates saligrama stone here in Papavinasanam, it will remove all the sins of the Devotee.

The best time to visit Papavinasanam is during the rainy season. TTD has arranged a free bus point from all points in Tirumala. Devotees can also see various other places like Japali Theertham, Venu Gopala Swamy Temple, and Gogarbham before reaching Papavinasanam. Papavinasam is opened at 6 AM in the morning and closes at 6 PM in the evening.
