Gudimallam- Sri Parasurameswara Swamy

Gudimallam temple is located on the banks of Swarna Mukhi River. It is 1.35 M Seven-sided Monoloithic Lingam  Parasurama is standing on the cringing Yaksha in the temple. It rests on the basis of Seven Concentric rings only which we can see only two surfaces. Lord Shiva is believed to be embodiment of trinity- Lord Brahma at the bottom, Lord Vishnu in the Middle, Lord Shiva on the Top.

The Story behind this temple is very much Interesting. Parasurama killed his mother at the directive of his father. He wanted to compensate for his Sin. Parasurama approached a sage and he advised him to perform atonement on the banks of Swarnamukhi River. As per the instructions a lone flower would bloom in the river everyday and the sage would offer this to Lord.

Once Lord Brahma decided to test Parasurama and so Lord Brahma has arrived in the form of dwarf offering his help. The Dwarf aided him with his prayers and tried a way to test the sage. Lord Brahma got an idea to pluck the flower and throw it in the river before the sage could use it for prayer.

Initially the sage thought that the flower itself had failed to bloom in the river. But later he suspected and caught the dwarf plucking the flower and throwing in to the river. Sage got angry upon the acts done by the dwarf. Lord Brahma realized the situation and called Lord Shiva to appease Parasurama. He told him that his atonement has borne fruit in the minute Lord Brahma had removed the first flower from the Swarna mukhi river. He told Parasurama not to feel guilty any longer and he blessed both Brahma and Parasurama by merging with the Lingam.

This deity is very special and so devotees can find all three murthies at one place along with Parsurama. Visiting this place will uplift the spiritual experience for Devotees. Sri Parasurameswara Swamy Temple remains in the Worship and it has been protected by Archealogical Survey of India.
